Résumé: Biosensors are important tools for detecting biomolecules and have applications in a number of fields. Recently, label-free biosensors have made significant progress in terms of sensitivity, integration and throughput. Here, we focus on optical label-free biosensors based on nanoscale materials and devices, covering their principles of operation, the confronted challenges and possible solutions. We will also talk about the work on applications of biosensors in biomedicine and deep sea in-situ microbial detection.

Note biographique: Guoguang Rong got his BS in Electronic Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University of China in 2000, and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University of USA in 2008. Afterwards, he joined School of Microelectronics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an Assistant Professor. Now he is working on nanoscale biosensors and applications in medical diagnostics and deep sea microbial detection.
