Microelectronics plays a fundamental role in microsystems of all kinds, as well as in cutting-edge applications requiring the creation of portable devices or devices that operate at high speeds and consume very little energy. This technology, along with the design of microsystems, is one of the essential aspects of any modern economy. In fact, it can be considered the basic technology for a growing number of industrial and service sectors. The center fosters the emergence of industrial innovations and the development of new cutting-edge technologies in various fields of application of microelectronics and microsystems.

In fact, it can be considered the basic technology for a growing number of industrial and service sectors. The center fosters the emergence of industrial innovations and the development of new cutting-edge technologies in various fields of application of microelectronics and microsystems.
Given the rapid evolution of the field of microelectronics, our center has undertaken, since 2006, to follow a new direction by orienting its research program towards the field of microsystems. This update aims to generate new collaborations between members, and to attract new ones. To highlight this new direction, we have made a name change, namely the Strategic Microsystems Group of Quebec (ReSMiQ)However, our objectives remain the same, namely on the one hand to increase the relevance of ReSMiQ to the local industry, and on the other hand to increase collaboration between members and interaction with students.
