Design and Implementation of Low Power Mixed-Analog VLSI Circuits
The research program focuses on several aspects of VLSI circuit design and implementation for mixed-signal processing. The first is the development of CMOS integrated optical sensor circuits. Current-mode analog-mixed-signal circuits are included to improve circuit performance in terms of power dissipation, required silicon area, and operating speed. The second aspect concerns signal processing algorithms. Simple algorithms, particularly those for image processing, are studied or proposed to facilitate implementations in VLSI circuits. The third aspect of the research concerns the design of analog and digital conversion circuits, focusing on simplifying circuit structures for sensor applications.
