for participation in conferences

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important for ReSMiQ to provide the scientific community with an English version of its documents. However, if translation errors occur, please note that the French version represents the official version.

Financial assistance for participation in conferences

ReSMiQ provides graduate students enrolled in one of the partner institutions with the opportunity to participate in international conferences.

1. Eligibility conditions

  • The student must be supervised by at least two (2) professors who are regular or associate members of ReSMiQ, each affiliated with a different institution. At least one of these professors must be affiliated with one of the partner institutions (see § 4).
  • The applicant must be enrolled full-time in one of the master's (M.Sc., M.Sc.A.) or Ph.D. programs at one of the partner institutions.
  • The candidate participates in the conference to present an article accepted as an oral presentation or as a poster presentation.
  • Only conferences with a paper selection date after July 1, 2021 are eligible.
  • Papers presented at the IEEE-NEWCAS conference are not considered for this competition.

2. Characteristics

  • Only subsistence (hotel, food), travel and conference registration expenses are considered eligible expenses.
  • The ReSMiQ reimburses a percentage of the total eligible expenses according to the following scale:
    • For oral presentations, 50%, up to a maximum of 1000$;
    • For poster presentations, 25%, up to a maximum of 500$.

3. Conditions

Failure to meet the conditions below will result in financial support being cancelled.

  • The submitted article must be a minimum of 3 pages; abstracts are not accepted.
  • ReSMiQ must be mentioned in the published article and during the presentation (presentation slides).
  • Production of a report (1/2 page) after the conference accompanied by proof of mention in the ReSMiQ.

5. Preparation of the application

Any file MUST BE PROPERLY ASSEMBLED AND SUBMITTED IN PDF FORMAT (ONE FILE ONLY) and contain the following information:

  • Fill in the information form
  • A copy of the submitted article
  • A copy of the official acceptance letter including comments following the evaluation of the article

6. Presentation of the request

6.1 Filing Schedule

Applications must be sent to the ReSMiQ administrative offices no later than February 2, 2022.

6.2 Deposit Method

Applications must be submitted via next form.

7. Awarding of scholarships and announcement of results

Applicants will be notified, at the time of application submission, of the date on which they will be informed of the selection committee's decision. The outcome will be communicated by email to the applicant with a copy to the directors.
